Abstract
Thyroid hormones affect the development and physiology of the kidneys. Hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism affect glomerular filtration rate (GFR), tubular function, renal blood flow, and structure of the kidney. Cystatin C is a non-glycosylated neuroendocrine protein.
