Abstract
The best occurrence of blueschist-facies lithologies in Himalaya is that of the Shergol Ophiolitic Mélange along the Indus suture zone in Ladakh region of north-western India. These lithologies are characterized by well preserved lawsonite-glaucophane-garnet-quartz assemblages.
