Abstract
Pleural biopsy is often obtained in patients with undiagnosed exudative pleural effusion during pleuroscopy. Standard forceps have been traditionally used for the biopsy. Cryoprobes are being increasingly used for transbronchial lung biopsy as they obtain larger specimens and have less crush artifact.
