Abstract
The Galapagos are renowned for endemism, which is unique to certain regions. Ironically, the isolation of the Galapagos is an important attribute that has enabled its contributions to the basics of modern science. We can find parallels in the medical research field. Two conditions are necessary to become a Galapagos in medical research. First, the region must be isolated. Second, a relative area needs to exist to conduct comparative research....
