The first fossil Athyreini in the subfamily of Bolboceratinae from the family of Geotrupidae, †Amberathyreus beuteli Bai et Zhang gen. et sp. nov., is described based on a specimen from the mid-Cretaceous Myanmar (Burmese) amber from northern Myanmar.
