Abstract

Background

Glucocorticoid (GC) therapy is used by more than one in two patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA)1. GCs are effective 2 but have side effects including Diabetes Mellitus (DM) 3.

Objectives

The aim of this retrospective cohort study was to quantify the risk of incident type II DM in patients with RA treated with oral GCs, and its relationship with dose.
