Organizations are influenced by external, internal, and relational institutional support. After a theoretical discussion of the organizational change and institutional theory literature, we test three mechanisms using data from Collegiate Athletics to examine the institutional factors that impacted a college's likelihood of adopting a specific visibility strategy.
