Abstract
Pseudomonas aeruginosa colonizes 20-30% of all venous leg ulcers. Hypothetically, P. aeraginosa could release proteases and cytotoxic substances in the environment of chronic ulcers, thus negatively affecting the wound-healing activity in this patient group.
