Abstract
Theoretical analyses are reported on the combustion of spherical alcohol droplets under microgravity conditions. The theory addresses burning rates, water dissolution in the droplet during combustion, possible instabilities that can lead to liquid-phase circulation, and conditions for flame extinction.
