Evolution of Sirenian Pachyosteosclerosis, a Model-case for the Study of Bone Structure in Aquatic Tetrapods

Osteosclerosis, or inner bone compaction, and pachyostosis, or outer hyperplasy of bone cortices (swollen bones), are typical features of tetrapods secondarily adapted to life in water.
