Abstract
Increased oxidative stress has been implicated in the pathogenesis of diabetic polyneuropathy (DPN). Antioxidant treatment with alpha‐lipoic acid (ALA) has been shown to prevent or ameliorate experimental diabetic neuropathy, providing the rationale for treatment in humans.
