Abstract
Physical work capacity decreases during aging. However, the physical demands of the work does not decrease. As a consequence, aging may be related to increasing prevalence and incidence rates of chronic diseases. Cardiovascular functions and musculoskeletal capacity also decline with increasing age. Age and gender probably influence muscular endurance. Strength and absolute endurance, isometric and isokinetic, decline at the same rate with age....
