Abstract
In order to install an obstacle detecting system in an automobile, a system was developed which detects the distance from the vehicle to an obstacle with which it is on a collision course. The speed of the vehicle and the size of the obstacle are measured using a stereo camera. Exclusive correlative operation hardware and high-speed algorithm were developed, and the system has shown that it can detect obstacles during tests in real time...
