Dihydrochalcone-glucosides as Sweet Principles of Symplocos ssp.
Abstract
Sweet principles of leaves of Symplocos spp., Symplocaceae, were investigated. From leaves of S. microcalyx, trilobatin, 4'-0-|3-glucoside of phloretin (2', 4, 4', 6'-tetrahydroxydihydrochalcone), was isolated in a yield of 0.6 %. From leaves of both S. lancifolia and S. spicata, phlorizin, 2'-0-β-glucoside of phloretin, was isolated in yields of 0.6 and 0.7 % respectively. It is the first example of the isolation of dihydrochalcone glucosides...
