Abstract
The photosensitized oxygenation of petasalbin I gave almost quantitatively a crystalline mixture of two isomeric hydroperoxides, V-a and V-b, both of which were then transformed to the corresponding lactones, VI-a and VI-b, respectively, in good yields.
