Abstract
The time-dependent history of a burning octane droplet has been computed. The purpose of the calculation is to understand the interplay between the transport phenomena, thermodynamics, and the chemical kinetics for a droplet decelerating from the initial Reynolds number condition of one hundred to a low Reynolds number flow near the end of the droplet lifetime. The results show that the drag and heat transfer characteristics are significantly...
