Empirical Validation of Reading and Spelling Quotients

SUMMARY An average achievement quotient, based on scores from an individual IQ test, an oral reading test and a spelling test, was calculated for each of 241 randomly selected children in school‐grades 3 to 12, and for 46 children attending schools for disabled readers.
