Abstract
In this paper an extension of the Shvab–Zel’dovich formulation is presented. This extended formulation, based on the Burke–Schumann kinetic mechanism, describes the combustion of multicomponent fuels in a diffusion flame in terms of mixture fraction and the excess enthalpy.
