Abstract
Objective. The personality disorders in people with cocaine dependence are frequent and they interfere in the treatment of these per- sons. Few studies analyze this relationship in Spain. The present study aims to evaluate the pre- sence of personality disorders in persons with co- caine dependence that are in treatment in Centers of Drug Dependence in Galicia (Spain) and to know if there are differences among both groups, with and without personality disorders, in relation to sociodemographic characteristics, psychopatho- logy and drug consumption. Material and methods. We use the MCMI-II to analyze the probability of presence of personality

Abstract This review examines the role of patient predictors of outcome in cognitive therapy of depression. Studies that meet eligibility criteria are reviewed for demonstrated linkage between various predictors (i.e., pretreatment severity, historical features, demographic predictors, dysfunctional attitudes and other cognitive features, and treatment acceptability) and outcome, and several effects are found. Notably, high pretreatment severity scores are associated with poorer response to cogn...

Abstract This paper reviews studies that used the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory with drug abusers. Although the test has been used with over 2000 such patients in the published literature, there is still a dearth of basic research with the MCMI with this population. Preliminary evidence suggests that the Personality Disorder Scales are quite useful to assess personality styles of drug abusers, but the Clinical Syndrome Scales present some problems. Specifically, the Drug Dependence Scale ...

Abstract To assess the relationship between cocaine dependence and personality disorders, we administered the Structured Clinical Interview for DSM-III-R Personality Disorders (SCID-II) to 50 patients who were hospitalized for cocaine dependence. We modified the SCID-II so that patients were asked to indicate whether personality traits (if present) occurred during periods of drug use, abstinence, or both. Thirty-seven patients (74%) received at least one axis II diagnosis; 69% of these diagnoses...
