Sir, We thank Dr. Yahya Ayhan Acar and his colleagues for their interest in our research on transpulmonary hypothermia. We agree that it is feasible to induce and maintain hypothermia in rodents using cooled oxygen inhalation. In larger animals, rapid induction of hypothermia with cooled oxygen inhalation alone is difficult, although maintenance of hypothermic state is feasible.
