Abstract
Effect of cadmium on turion formation and germination of Spirodela polyrrhiza L. (SP20) was studied. Cadmium inhibited the general growth of the plants but induced and stimulated turion formation. In control media, plants could produce turions after about 30 days of inoculation, in the presence of 10mg1-1 of Cd, turion formation started even after 10 days of exposure.
