Abstract
Squeeze film behaviour in a narrow porous journal bearing is analysed. The analytical model takes into account the effect of porosity by assuming that the flow in the porous matrix obeys Darcy's law. The modified Reynolds' equation is derived to account for the porosity of the bearing.
