Satellite viruses encode structural proteins required for the formation of infectious particles but depend on helper viruses for completing their replication cycles. Macrobrachium rosenbergii nodavirus (MrNV) and extra small virus (XSV) were puri- fied from diseased freshwater prawns M. rosenbergii and used to infect healthy post-larvae (PL) by an immersion method.
