Abstract
Transient responses of crystals to the application of a driving force are calculated for three mechanisms of growth. Two-dimensional nucleation is considered in the greatest detail. The transient that results from the nucleation of disk-shaped clusters on a multi-level surface is calcualted by analytical methods.
