Abstract
Despite their disadvantages, glucocorticoids (GCs) remain a mainstay of therapy for polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR). Second-line antirheumatic and immune-modulatory drugs are not infrequently required because of disease relapses during GC tapering and GC adverse effects.
