Abstract
Stress corrosion cracking of Ti-8-1-1 alloy was studied using controlled potential techniques in aqueous and methanol environments with and without halogen ions. The alloy was observed to display susceptible zones in aqueous solutions containing halogen ions—susceptible zones are in the corrosion potential and pitting potential regions.
