Abstract
We compare a boundary layer model of unsteady Czochralski growth to a more comprehensive connective-diffusive model. Two test problems are considered: determining segregation effects due to the initial transient when a crystal starts growing at a constant rate and determining the segregation effects due to oscillatory crystal growth.
