Abstract
Osteoclasts freshly isolated from embryonic chicks have been examined for calcitonin receptors using radio-iodine-labeled salmon calcitonin. Calcitonin binding to chick osteoclasts could not be shown by either autoradiography or biochemical binding studies. Furthermore, calcitonin did not stimulate cyclic AMP production.
