Abstract
Alkyltin compounds are used as stabilizers and antifouling agents. Food chain accumulation and bioconcentration have been demonstrated in crabs, oysters and salmon exposed to tributyltin oxide. In mammalian species, tributylin compounds may be metabolized to dibutyltin derivatives and related metabolites.
