Abstract
In this paper, an on-line optimal control methodology is developed for the optimal quality control of a seeded batch cooling crystallizer process. An extended Kalman filter is successfully implemented to predict seven unmeasured state variables based on three measurements in the batch process. A PI controller is used in a feedback control system to implement the optimal path. It is found that the PI controller can ensure tracking of the optimal...
