High-resolution computed tomography (CT) of the lungs is an advance beyond conventional CT of the chest. The resolving power of this technique allows examiners to visualize near-microscopic anatomic detail of the lung. Drs. Webb, Mμller, and Naidich were among the first to develop and to use this technique extensively.
