Studies designed to examine effects of weight reduction by dieting on total cholesterol (TC), low-density-li-poprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), high-density-lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), very-low-density-lipoprotein cholesterol (VLDL-C), and triglycerides (TGs) have reported inconsistent results.
