Background Peritoneal carcinomatosis ( PC ) results from the secondary spread of many intraabdominal tumour types, such as colorectal malignancy (colorectal cancer, CRC ), disseminated peritoneal adenomucinosis ( DPAM ), appendiceal cancer, ovarian carcinoma, sarcoma or from the occurrence of primary peritoneal disease such as peritoneal mesothelioma.
