The interaction of tri(2,2,-dideutero-4-phenylbutyl)chromium and -iron with 1,7-octadiene and 3-phenylpropene, respectively, results in the formation of hydrogenation products (deutero-2-octene and 1,2-dideutero-3-phenylpropane) and isomerization products.
