Hosted within the metamorphosed, neritic siliciclastic rocks and sedimentary carbonates of the Proterozoic Shilu Group, the Shilu Fe–Co–Cu ore district in Hainan Province of South China comprises the upper Fe- and the lower Co–Cu ore layers.
