Abstract Foliar epicuticular waxes of specimens of 13 Croton species native in Brazil were extracted. The fractions containing alkanes and primary alcohols were isolated by preparative thin layer chromatography. Abstract Phytochemical characterization of the whole plants of Erigeron breviscapus (Vant.) Hand.-Mazz. Led to the isolation of two indole derivatives (1–2), seven monoterpenoids (3–9), two sesquiterpenoids (10–11), and four pyrone derivatives (12–15). The structures of these compounds were examined with spectroscopic methods, and also by comparing with previously reported spectroscopic data. Abstract A rare anthocyanin, malvidin 3-O-rhamnoside, was isolated from the blue flowers of Parochetus communis Buch.-Ham. ex D. Don along with two known flavonols: kaempferol 3-O-(2-O-glucosyl-6-O-rhamnosyl)-glucoside and kaempferol 3-O-(2,6-di-O-rhamnosyl)-glucoside. These structures were identified using Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and Mass Spectrometry (MS).

Abstract Three perylenequinones, the methylated 12-epi-stemphytriol (1), dihydroalterperylenol (2), and alterperylenol (3), were isolated from cultures of Curvularia lunata (LBQM-04) on malt extract broth. Abstract Here, we isolated a new polyacetylene, (2Z,8E)-heptadecadiene-10-oxo-4,6-diyn-1-ol (1), an oxylipin (2), eight phenolic compounds (3–10), and 15 saponins (11–25) from the roots of Bupleurum chinense.
