Background Integrins are interesting targets in oncology. RGD sequence has high affinity for αVβ3 integrin receptors. Diagnostic/therapeutic agents can be selectively delivered into cancer cells overexpressing αVβ3 integrin by using RGD as a carrier. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) have shown anticancer properties in in vitro and in vivo studies. The anti-cancer properties of NSAIDs occur though COX-2 inhibition. Regarding the anti-cancer properties of NSAIDs and overexpression of ...

Purpose Metal salts are used in formulation of dry powder inhalers (DPIs) for different purposes. Recently the role of these salts in production of small, dense but highly dispersible particles has emerged. In this study the effect of some such salts on dispersibility and respirability of spray dried levofloxacin formulations was evaluated in normal and reduced inhalation air flow or by increasing powder filling in capsules.

Background Chlorpheniramine (CPA), thanks to its relatively lower side effects, is a widely prescribed medicine for alleviating allergic symptoms as well as some medical emergencies. Owning to this extensive use, many efforts have been directed to measure chlorpheniramine both in vivo and in vitro. High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), both normal and reverse phase, as well as spectrochemical and electrochemical methods are analytical approaches which have been extensively exploited for...

Background Demographic and socio-economic factors determine pharmaceutical health care utilization for individuals. Prescription and non-prescription medicine use are expected to have different determinants. Even though prescription and non-prescription medicine use is being well researched for developed countries, there are only a few studies for developing countries.

Purpose The major short coming of conventional therapy system is that they can’t deliver the therapeutics specifically to a site within the body without producing nonspecific toxicity. Present research aimed at developing kidney targeted allopurinol (AP) loaded chitosan coated magnetic nanoparticles (A-MNPs) for the management of hyperuricemic nephropathy manifested in the form of nephrolithiasis.

Purpose Meningitis is an inflammation of meninges encircled the brain and spinal cord. Currently it can be treated with second generation cephalosporins which were ended up with an unresolvable problem called Multi Drug Resistance (MDR). Hence, there is a need to develop a better herbal molecule to conflict the MDR.
