In this work, well-defined 3 nm-sized Ca2+, Fe3+, Na+, Mg2+, Zn2+, Ni2+, Co2+, and Cd2+ cation-adsorbed Fe3O4/γ-Fe2O3 nanoparticles were used as prototype systems to investigate the influence of metallic trace elements in body fluids on the relaxivities of iron-oxide contrast agents. A series of 4-trifluoromethyl pyrazoles have been prepared via the copper-catalyzed cycloaddition of 2-bromo-3,3,3-trifluoropropene with a variety of N-arylsydnone derivatives under mild conditions. This new protocol under optimized reaction conditions [Cu(OTf)2/phen, DBU, CH3CN, 35 °C] afforded 4-trifluoromethyl pyrazoles in moderate to excellent yields with excellent regioselectivity.

We report here on the efficient and straightforward synthesis of a series of modular and functional PBA-BODIPY dyes 1–4. They are an outstanding example of the efficient merge of the versatility of the 3,5-dichloro-BODIPY derivatives and the receptor-like ability of the PBA moiety. The potential bioanalytical applicability of these tools was assessed by measuring the binding to glycan chains of antibodies by a Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM).

A facile, swift and ecofriendly microwave-assisted multi-component/one-pot protocol is designed for the synthesis of novel pyrazolo-[3,4-b]-quinolines at ambient temperature in aqueous ethanol as a reaction medium.
