Abstract The fine and hyperfine structures of the paramagnetic resonance spectrum of the trigonal Cr3+ centers in the chromium-doped Pb5Ge3O11 samples after annealing at low oxygen pressure have been studied. The localization of chromium ions in the lead germanate crystal lattice, as well as the results of studying the effect of such doping on the susceptibility of crystals to the second harmonic are discussed.

Abstract Highly (100) oriented Y2Hf2O7 thin films were grown on YSZ substrates by magnetron sputtering. The band-gap of 5.1 eV for the Y2Hf2O7 thin film was evaluated by optical transmission spectroscopy. UV photodetectors based on the Y2Hf2O7 thin films were fabricated. Abstract Silver nano-films with thicknesses of 5, 10 and 50 nm were grown using e-beam evaporation on glass substrates at room temperature in order to investigate their thermal nonlinear optical properties near surface plasmon resonance. The nonlinear response was verified using single beam z-scan setup in the cw regime. At 5 and 10 nm thickness, the films showed plasmonic resonance at 488 and 518 nm, respectively. Abstract Herein, we report a series of MoO3:Dy3+ (1–9 mol %) nanophosphors were synthesized by solution combustion route using barbituric acid as a fuel. The structural studies clearly show the orthorhombic phase of α-MoO3. Hierarchical microstructures were confirmed from scanning electron microscope. Abstract Porphyrin compounds are novel nonlinear materials that are being used in a wide range of optoelectronic applications. In this article, a film of 2,7,12,17-tetra-tert-butyl-5,10,15,20-tetraaza-21H,23H-porphine (TTBTP) was produced by a thermal evaporation technique. Abstract Here we report a novel composite material Cs4PW11O39Fe/Si(Cs4PW11Fe/Si), which was prepared by combination of chemical etching and hydrothermal method. This composite material displays a superior photoelectric performance. A transient photocurrent density of 0.4 mA cm−2 and a maximum surface photovoltage of 0.043 mV as well as an maximum IPCE of 80.8% were obtained, much higher than those of the pristine p-Si or Cs4PW11Fe.
