Abstract Diffusion-controlled amperometric biosensors for dissolved oxygen (O2) were constructed by immobilization of multi-copper oxidases (copper efflux oxidase and bilirubin oxidase) on porous gold microdisk electrodes fabricated by anodization in a glucose solution. The immobilized enzymes rapidly consumed O2 near the electrode at potentials more negative than 0.2 V vs. Ag|AgCl|sat. KCl via direct electron transfer-type bioelectrocatalysis and the reduction current reached the steady state l...

Abstract The paper considers approaches to the synthesis as well as the structural and electrochemical properties of lithium and transition metals polyanionic compounds as promising cathode materials for lithium-ion battery. The characteristics of lithium and transition metals sulfates are considered, among which iron-lithium sulfate and a composite electrode material Li2Fe(SO4)2/C based on it was selected for further detailed study. The relationships between the synthesis conditions and the str...

Abstract In this paper, CdS quantum dots (QDs) were synthesized. Positively charged poly(diallyldimethylammonium chloride) (PDDA) and negatively charged CdS quantum dots were sequentially adsorbed on the surface of graphene oxide (GO). The nano-luminescent materials GO-QDs were prepared and characterized by UV–Vis absorption spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The GO-QDs were then modified on the surface of glassy carbon electrode (GCE). Chloramphenicol ...

Abstract Charge-carrier dynamics during photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting over WO3 particulate photoanode deposited on titanium sheet (Ti/WO3) was studied using intensity-modulated photocurrent spectroscopy (IMPS). The WO3 particulate film calcined at 650 °C showed high PEC performance for water oxidation to evolve O2. In linear sweep voltammetry, the photocurrent density proportionally increased with incident light intensity (I0). This means that the incident photon-to-current conversi...
Abstract Transition metal nanoparticles can be considered as promising low cost materials for insulin oxidation catalysis. Combination of transition metal nanoparticles with multi walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs), which enlarges the active surface area of the electrode, can improve the analytical characteristics of electrodes. Two types of screen printed carbon electrodes (SPCEs) modified by the combination of copper (CuNPs) or cobalt (CoNPs) nanoparticles with chitosan and MWCNTs were prepared....

Abstract An iron-based complex Fe(II)-BTC (BTC = 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylic acid) modified electrode as a mimetic enzyme sensor was designed for detecting the photorelease of nitric oxide (NO) in sodium nitroprusside (SNP). The Fe(II)-BTC complex film was electrodeposited on the surface of a glassy carbon electrode, and its morphology and composition were characterized by scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive spectrometer and Fourier transform infrared. The response of the mimetic enzy...

Abstract Electrodeposition of rhenium-cobalt (Re-Co) alloys is investigated in water-in-salt electrolyte with a superhigh concentration of lithium chloride. Cyclic and linear sweep voltammetries, potentiostatic deposition, and X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy are used to characterize the electrochemical deposition behavior of electrolytes and determine the deposition rates of each elements. Re deposition rate is enhanced in the presence of Co and a constant alloy composition is observed within a ...

Abstract This work describes the electrochemical properties of low symmetry cobalt phthalocyanines namely, tris-[(4-tert-butylphenoxy)-4-(pent-4-yn-1-yloxy) phthalocyaniato] cobalt (II) (3) and tris-[(4-tert-butylphenoxy)-4-(4-ethybylbenzyl-oxy) phthalocyaniato] cobalt (II) (5). The complexes were characterized by a number of techniques including UV–Vis, mass, and infrared spectra, as well as elemental analysis. The glassy carbon electrodes were first azide functionalized then clicked to low sym...

Abstract Constant current chronopotentiometric stripping (CPS) allows analysis of proteins based on measured peak H resulting from catalytic hydrogen evolution reaction. The technique is label-free and sensitive to the structure and stability of the protein adsorbed at the mercury electrode. Comparison of proteins must be carried out under the same conditions, including ionic strength, temperature, pH, and accumulation potential and time, as all of these factors can affect the protein stability ...

Abstract Cobalt sulfides are promising electrode materials for lithium ion batteries due to its high theoretical capacity. However, the disadvantages of low conductivity, poor cyclability combined with the large structural variation severely hinder its practical application. In this work, Co3S4 nanosheets on N doped amorphous carbon coated carbon nanotubes (CNTs@NC@Co3S4) are designed and fabricated, where the carbon nanotubes penetrate through Co3S4 ultrathin nanosheets and form conductive netw...
