Abstract In this work, a vertical vapor deposition method was developed to grow SnSe single crystals. More than thirty single crystal particles were simultaneously obtained and the largest size could up to 15 × 15 × 10 mm3. The as-grown crystal is tested has nearly Sn: Se = 1: 1 stoichiometric ratio and demonstrates standard orthorhombic Pnma space group at room temperature. Abstract SnSe crystal is an attractive Ⅳ-Ⅵ thermoelectric (TE) material. In this work, a O25 × 50 mm3 SnSe crystal was prepared using a directional solidification method. The as-grown crystal has standard Pnma structure at room temperature. The band gap Eg is determined to be 0.96 eV which agrees well with the theoretical value. Abstract In this work, SnSe thermoelectric (TE) single crystals with size of 100 × 50 × 15 mm3 was grown by a Horizontal Bridgman method. Abstract The Mg-doped ZnO (Zn 1 − x Mg x O) nanomaterials with different morphologies of nanoparticles, partially opened nanowire-on-spherical shells, hemispheric shells and chain-like nanoparticles were synthesized at 750, 850, 900 and 1000 °C by a simple chemical vapor deposition.
