Abstract This paper identifies the asymmetric steering characteristics of a Wave Adaptive Modular Vessel (WAM-V) deployed as an Unmanned Surface Vessel (USV). Differentially steered propellers create a virtual rudder movement without explicitly inducing lateral rudder forces.
