Mcl-1 is a potent antiapoptotic protein and amplifies frequently in many human cancer. Abstract Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most common and high aggressive malignant brain tumor. Purpose Fluphenazine and prochlorperazine as phenothiazine-class antipsychotic drugs are widely used to treat schizophrenia, however their use is associated with significant side effects such as extrapyramidal symptoms, as well as ocular and skin disorders. Our goal was to determine the effect of fluphenazine and prochlorperazine on cell viability and melanogenesis in lightly pigmented normal human melanocytes.
