We present an extension of an earlier presented framework for use in the conceptual design of Arctic cargo ships. To enable a holistic approach, the framework integrates a wide range of performance assessment tools and methods namely (a) Discrete Event Simulation (DES) based Monte Carlo simulations, (b) system thinking, and (c) empirical data analysis.
