Here we present a case to show that HLA typing can be used to identify tumor origin in transplant recipients. A 61-year-old man with a past medical history of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis received right lung transplant on 7/25/2016. He was admitted to the hospital on 12/25/17 with complaints of worsening shortness of breath as well as a non-productive cough and wheezing for a few days prior to arrival.
