Abstract The electromagnetic properties of the γ-transitions, decaying from the γ-vibrational states of 126Xe, have been studied via 122Sn(9Be, 5nγ) fusion-evaporation reaction at a beam energy of 48 MeV. The level scheme has been updated by placing the 8 2 + → 8 1 + ( Δ I = 0 ) and the 7 1 + → 6 1 + ( Δ I = 1 ) γ-transitions. Spin and parity of several excited states have been assigned on the basis of angular correlation and linear polarization results. Systematic of the γ-band in even-even Xe ...

Excited states of 124 Te have been studied via 122 Sn(9 Be,3n)124 Te reaction at 48MeV. The spin and parity of several states have been confirmed on the basis of results of angular correlation ( and linear polarization asymmetry measurements. The positive parity band structures of 124 Te and 126 Te have been investigated and the quasi- bands have been proposed in these nuclei. The structures of these bands have also been discussed under the framework of triaxial projected shell model (TPSM) calc...

Abstract Stable isotopic iodine targets were fabricated using potassium iodide (KI) compound on gold and lead backings and used in a heavy ion induced in-beam γ-ray spectroscopy experiment. Due to the hygroscopic nature of iodide compounds, a very thin gold capping was used to protect the targets from getting hydrated. The mechanical, chemical and thermal stability of these targets was tested. The KI target on gold backing was found more stable compared to other iodide targets. In order to deter...

Semiclassical particle-rotor model calculations have been carried out for the ground-state band of 102Ru nucleus to find out the possibility of antimagnetic rotational structure with more than two pair of proton holes in A ≈ 110 mass region. The experimental dynamic moment of inertia in the spin range of 14+ to 24+ is constant throughout the band and is found in the range of antimagnetic rotational bands. The model calculated decreasing trend of B(E2) with angular momentum and sharply increasing...

Low lying states of 198Hg have been investigated via 197Au(7Li,\(\alpha\)2n\(\gamma\)) reaction at \( E_{\mathrm{beam}} = 33, 38\) MeV and the members of the \(\gamma\)-vibrational band have been identified. Results are compared with the systematic of this mass region and found in agreement. The observed band structures have been interpreted using the theoretical framework of the microscopic triaxial projected shell model (TPSM) approach and it is shown that TPSM results are in fair agreement wi...
