Research Summary Our inductive field study identifies specific emotion regulation (ER) actions as affective underpinnings of dynamic managerial capabilities. ER refers to the management and modification of one's own and other people's emotions for a specific purpose. Our study shows how differences in managers' attention to ER influence the extent to which they can mobilize resources to pursue market opportunities. We show how their ER of the self helps them mobilize human capital resources by c...

In this research, we ask whether founders imprint business model innovation and what mechanisms they use to do so. Grounded in an in- depth longitudinal multiple-case study of six new ventures, we develop a theoretical framework that explains how founders shape the degree of business model innovation of their firms. Our findings suggest that, besides their direct impact on structural business model imprints, founders also shape cognitive practices in their young firms that in turn affect busines...

A bathing enclosure comprises a base section and two wall sections. The wall sections are mounted on the base section and are joined by a complimentary tongue and groove. The tongue and groove form a vertical seam which is water-tight, eliminating the need for sealing material. The two-piece wall design provides ease in installation and allows access to areas behind the wall sections it desired or necessary.

Anchored in the broad design literature, we derive four antecedents of business model design: goals, templates, stakeholder activities, and environmental constraints. These business model design antecedents are illustrated using interview data from nine new ventures in the peer-to-peer lending space. We proceed with the theoretical development to link the design antecedents to the design themes of business models and conclude with implications for business model research and entrepreneurial lead...

The study of business models involves exploring how firms do business at the system level. It lies at the intersection of strategy and entrepreneurship research and is, therefore, a topic of interest for scholars of strategic entrepreneurship. The purpose of this special issue is to publish work that develops theory on business models, or empirically investigates the phenomenon, and to inspire future research on the topic. In our introduction, we briefly review the main conceptual developments o...
