Abstract In this study, we explore the chemistry of accessory apatite and zircon as tools to monitor the petrogenetic and metallogenetic processes involved in the formation of the Wushan Cu- and Zhuxiling W (Mo)-mineralization related granodiorite porphyry. The Wushan granitoids are metaluminous with A/CNK of 0.88–1.01, and the Zhuxiling intrusions are weakly peraluminous with higher A/CNK values (1.02–1.12). The Wushan granitoids have eNd(t) values of −4.6 to −4.7, which, combined with the rela...

Abstract The Niujuan Ag-Au-Pb-Zn deposit is located in the northern Hebei Province of North China, which is hosted by Permian coarse-grained granite. The orebodies are controlled by a NE striking fault. Chloritization is the most extensive alteration with increasing alteration intensity from the distal to proximal end of the orebody. Chlorite and biotite from twenty-one altered samples from different depths of four drill holes were analyzed using electron microprobe (EMPA) and laser ablation ind...

Abstract The Paleoproterozoic metasediments and metavolcanics in the Jiao-Liao-Ji belt, northeastern China, host a large number of borate deposits. To trace the source of boron in these borate deposits, we carried out in situ chemical and boron isotopic studies on tourmalines of amphibolites from the Lieryu Formation of the Liaohe Group in the Jiao-Liao-Ji belt. The petrology and the chemical compositions of tourmalines of amphibolites show that these tourmalines formed by influx of B-rich fluid...

Abstract Many composite granite plutons occur in South China, accompanied by large-scale polymetallic mineralization. Each composite pluton is composed of main-phase granite and late-stage highly differentiated granite. Traditionally, the highly differentiated granite is thought to be residual melt of the former via fractionation, and ore-forming materials and fluids are from granite magma itself. We propose a different model for the origin of the granites and related mineralization, based on pe...

The Yaojiazhuang ultramafic-syenitic complex is one of the representative Triassic alkaline plutons on the northern margin of the North China Craton (NCC). Based on detailed study of the zircon U-Pb age, petrological, mineralogical, and geochemical data of the complex, the characteristics of the magmas system, the petrogenesis of different rock types, and the nature of the mantle source were discussed to provide new constraints on the origin and tectonic setting of the Triassic alkaline belt. Cu...
