Reducing radiation exposure is a very important issue in interventional cardiology techniques such as percutaneous coronary intervention. Although novel techniques to reduce radiation exposure are valuable, we should also reconsider older techniques. Digital zoom has been available in Japan from 2005. Digital zoom enlarges an 8-inch field of view (FOV) by 1.2 times, allowing visualization of a 6.7-inch FOV without FOV switching. We identified 2101 suitable cases of percutaneous intervention (PCI...

Abstract A 51-year-old male, previously diagnosed with central diabetes insipidus due to lymphocytic hypophysitis, presented with fever and dyspnea for 1 week. On arrival, he exhibited hypotension (85/60 mmHg) and sinus tachycardia (110 bpm). His electrocardiogram revealed mild ST elevation on V2–V4. Echocardiography indicated a near-normal (50%) left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), although the inferior wall of the left ventricle exhibited severe hypokinesis. Fulminant myocarditis and cir...

Abstract Background An integrated backscatter (IB) intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) provides an information about tissue components and vulnerability of coronary plaques. The presence of vulnerable plaque in non-culprit lesion is associated with future clinical events. The purpose of this study was to assess the association between the characteristics of non-culprit left main coronary artery (LMCA) plaques evaluated by IB-IVUS and long-term clinical outcomes in patients undergoing percutaneous co...
