Insight into the catalytic mechanism of Lactobacillus leichmannii nucleoside 2′-deoxyribosyltransferase (LlNDT) has been gained by calculating a quantum mechanics–molecular mechanics (QM/MM) free-energy landscape of the reaction within the enzyme active site.
